Databased Web Sites

The Web is based on "Goto" statements. Hermann Maurer proposed to keep links and content separately - facilitates updating chains of links and creates two-way links. This is done with HyperWave.

Standard model is becoming a relational database with "middleware" to build Web pages from records. (E.G., .cfm, .asp)

Uses might include referencing several texts with the same material, creating adaptive content, collaborative editing, checking in and out content modules, allowing instructors to customize content, etc. They also facilitate adaptivity.

Example of adaptivity: Math Preference Quiz. |  Conditional Link. (Login = guest, Password = guest)
